Alex Salmond Rejects Donald Trump’s Claim Over Golf Resort
According to the Daily Record website, Alex Salmond denied that Donald Trump’s £1billion golf resort plan was a done deal.
Apparently, no decision would be taken until after a public inquiry. Salmond will face further calls to explain Trump’s confident boast in three weeks.
Asked about the plans in a magazine interview, Trump bragged: “I’m going to get it.” He wants to build a course, hotel and housing on a site on an environmentally special stretch of coastline. The plans were thrown out by the local council last year.
Yesterday, Salmond presented a 19th century hickory-shafted driving iron to the sponsors of the US PGA Tour event, the Verizon Heritage Classic, in South Carolina.He said: “There are few things that link Scotland with America as strongly as the sport of golf.”
